Dr. Beltran is a medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of patients with genitourinary malignancies (including prostate, bladder, testis, and kidney cancers). Her clinical and translational research focuses on development of new treatment strategies for patients. In particular, she is studying the genetics of prostate cancer, and she is involved in developing personalized treatment approaches for patients based on their cancer’s specific molecular alterations. Dr. Beltran’s clinical practice and research rely on close collaborations with clinicians, scientists, and physician scientists from multiple disciplines including pathology, urology, radiology, radiation oncology, computational biology, pharmacology, and medical oncology. Most recently, she has expanded her clinical and research efforts across cancer types as part of our new Institute for Precision Medicine.
Dr. Beltran is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investigator Award, the Women in Cancer Research Scholar Award from the American Association for Cancer Research, the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology Clinical Scholar Award, and the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Clinical Investigator Award.
